Our readers:

Bridget Canning is the author of three books: The Greatest Hits of Wanda Jaynes, Bridget has red hair and is wearing a black sweater. Some People’s Children, and No One Knows about Us. Her newest novel, Taking Down Names, will be published with Breakwater Books in 2026. Originally from Highlands, NL, she now resides in St. John’s where she writes and teaches. 

 

 

Duncan has brown hair and a mustache - he is wearing glasses and a workshop apron. Duncan Major is a St. John’s-based artist with a letterpress studio, Walpurgis Press.  His poetry has received provincial Arts and Letters awards, and has recently been adapted for voice and piano by musician James Hurley.

 

 

Beth Ryan’s work has always centred on listening to people’s stories – first in A black and white photo of Beth with lights overhead. journalism and now in counselling therapy. Her fiction explores vulnerability, connection, and how we make sense of our experiences. She has published two books – What Is Invisible (Killick, 2003) and If We Caught Fire (Breakwater, 2023).
